I was playing around with the guages in my 05 745i and discovered a "system check" setting that scrolls through every possible light, signal, and screen on the dash. Just press and hold (for about 10 seconds) the button at the top left of the guages with the key in (but not with the ignition on) and press until you get to "system check," then press and hold again (about 3 seconds or so) and it does this!
